Why Did the Soviet Union Choose Racist Iceland for the 1972 World Chess Championship?

Does anyone still believe there were such great differences between white supremacists in Washington D.C. vs. the white supremacist leaders of the Soviet Union? I'm waiting for a Soviet loyalist to explain how they can (in all good conscience) go on in blind support of the Soviet Union, continuing to rehash propaganda against Robert J. Fischer. If Stalin and his predecessors/successors were all Soviet loyalists claim they were, why did they regularly consort with racists?

Robert J. Fischer was brutally persecuted and maligned as a “bad guy” by the Soviet Union, which was quickly picked up by their thick as thieves allies in Western media and government.

We are told by outspoken hard-left proponents, guilty of glorifying the hammer and sickle (a symbol of repression, slavery and liquidation of millions of lives) what great “progressive thinkers” the Roosevelt-Stalin-Churchill gang were... A lot remains that must be told, and remembered! about that grand old Soviet Union and its western allies!

As Pegler Sees It by Westbrook Pegler
Jackson, Miss., May 25, 1948—On a beautiful Sabbath morning a few weeks ago, the Hon. Fielding L. Wright, governor of Mississippi, broadcast an oration on interracial relations which expressed with benign h*p*crisy the attitude of the southern white man toward the N*gro. He did not express the h*p*crisy of the northern white man towards the N*gro. He did not even mention the sacred name of the late Franklin D. Roosevelt, that valiant fight for civic equality and against discrimination, segregation and ostracism. Never in all his 12 years and a bit in the White House did Roosevelt appoint any N*gro to any superior political job in the south and he did sign his name to a property deed at his real estate promotion at Warm Springs, Ga., forbidding forever the sale of his land to any Afro, or its rental or occupancy by any such. In so doing the old joker showed his true attitude. In spite of these facts, well known to them, many southern men and women of the Roosevelt politico-spiritual adherency still insist that he, Roosevelt, was somehow and inexplicably, pure and without fault...”

Why was Stalin making trade deals with Roosevelt, right down the line to trade deals between Brezhnev and Nixon, renown closet racists?

The Big Three: Stalin, Roosevelt, Churchill

Why was Jesse Owens deprived of presidential recognition?
Owens later wrote: “My whole life was wrapped up, summed up – and stopped up – by a single incident: my confrontation with the German dictator, Adolf Hitler, in the 1936 Olympics. The lines were drawn then as they had never been drawn before or since. The Germans were […] coming to represent everything that free people have always feared.”
It is not clear whether Hitler snubbed Owens by refusing to acknowledge his victories. The record suggests this reading is wrong, or at best doubtful. There are reports of a Nazi salute, a wave or a handshake. Yet there is no doubt at all about the hurt inflicted on Owens by the neglect of US President Franklin D Roosevelt.
Owens received no telegram of congratulations for his record-breaking haul of medals. On his return, there was no invitation to the White House to shake hands with the President. That honour was reserved for white Olympians. Owens even had to attend a non-presidential reception in his honour with his mother at the Waldorf Astoria using the goods lift.
Was Roosevelt, architect of the New Deal, a closet racist?

Now why again, did the Soviet Union hand-select racist, antisemitic, anti-American Iceland as the choice for the location of the 1972 World Chess Championship? And why did Nixon snub Fischer by deprivation of a proper White House dinner invitation, just as Jesse Owens was snubbed by Roosevelt?

“Most of the first books I read were Russian chess books, but uh, the first time the Russians ever mentioned me, I remember I was 13, and uh, said ‘well he's a very fine, you know, talented young player, but all this publicity he's getting is sure to do damage to his character.’ And then sure enough, from then on, they began attacking my character.”

Robert J. Fischer on Biased Media Smear Campaign

'til the world understands why Robert J. Fischer criticised the U.S./British and Russian military industry imperial alliance and their own Israeli Apartheid. Sarah Wilkinson explains:

Bobby Fischer, First Amendment, Freedom of Speech
What a sad story Fischer was,” typed a racist, pro-imperialist colonial troll who supports mega-corporation entities over human rights, police state policies & white supremacy.
To which I replied: “Really? I think he [Bob Fischer] stood up to the broken system of corruption and raised awareness! Whether on the Palestinian/Israel-British-U.S. Imperial Apartheid scam, the Bush wars of ‘7 countries in 5 years,’ illegally, unconstitutionally which constituted mass xenocide or his run in with police brutality in Pasadena, California-- right here in the U.S., police run rampant over the Constitution of the U.S., on oath they swore to uphold, but when Americans don't know the law, and the cops either don't know or worse, “don't care” -- then I think that's pretty darn “sad”. I think Mr. Fischer held out and fought the good fight, steadfast til the day he died, and may he Rest In Peace.

After which the troll posted a string of profanities, confirming there was never any genuine sentiment of “compassion” for Mr. Fischer, rather an intent to inflict further defamatory remarks.

This ongoing work is a tribute to the life and accomplishments of Robert “Bobby” Fischer who passionately loved and studied chess history. May his life continue to inspire many other future generations of chess enthusiasts and kibitzers, alike.
